Plumage guarantees the superior quality of its duvets and also ensures that silicone products are not used to inflate the feather tufts.
The harvesting of the feathers occurs only on "mature" animals that are over seven months of age, having developed a more voluminous plumage.
The presence of darker feathers reflects the fact that the company uses only natural and ecological products for feather washing and sterilisation, without using bleach or optical brighteners. This ensures that Plumage items are stuffed with new 100% virgin natural feathers and down, washed and sterilised in accordance with the most advanced technological processing systems.
Presidential Decree n. 845 of 23/01/75 and successive Ministerial Decree 10.11.76 (Law 883 of 26/11/73):
This also guarantees the exclusive use of 100% pure Makò cotton in tight weave (Inlett) for perfect and lasting containment of the stuffing. The durability of the product, thanks to continuous and strict monitoring procedures throughout the entire production process, is guaranteed over time in respect of the proper use and maintenance instructions. The product is guaranteed for 10 years from date of purchase for any manufacturing defects.
Plumage duvets are European products with guaranteed hypoallergenic and antirheumatic certification, with both the feathers and the 100% Makò cotton fabric products being absolutely natural and, compared to acrylic fibres, having the great advantage of absorbing the moisture produced by the sleeping body - around 0.2 litres per night - that is slowly re-transmitted to the environment, leaving the body in a dry and comfortable microclimate. This process prevents perspiration and keeps the body temperature constant.
It is incorrect to say that people who suffer from allergies or asthma should renounce the natural comfort of a duvet. The New Virgin Feather does not provoke allergic reactions from dust mites, as is often erroneously claimed, and does not cause respiratory allergic reactions, such as asthma and hay fever. From important research carried out in Europe, it has been shown that pillows and duvets stuffed with New Virgin Feathers are not an ideal habitat for dust mites. Subject to regular maintenance, dust mites are not found within these items as the tight-weave Inlett fabric acts as an almost impenetrable barrier.
The microclimate of items stuffed with New Virgin Feathers (given the warmth and rapid elimination of moisture) represents a very unfavourable habitat for mites, which are moisture-dependent. Moreover, feathers are not a food that mites enjoy. It is therefore incorrect to advise a person allergic to dust mites against using products stuffed in new virgin feathers, being that there is no scientific evidence supporting this.
